Driving Will……..
Took Will to Gwenifer and Bryan’s this arvo. Towed him behind the jogger, then put cart on and towed him again. All going well so I hopped in the cart and drove along behind the jogger. Stopped and had a cuppa while giving Will a breather and time to “think about it”. Then walked him around with cart on and no longer attached to jogger, all went very well. So I hopped in and Bryan led him around then unclipped the lead rope and I was driving. Yay!! Drove around the yard, lots of stops and starts, lots of changes of direction. Then left him tied to the tie up rail while we took Jedd for a turn in the jogger. Then another drive around the yard. All went very well. Thanks to Bryan and Gwenifer for their patience and perserverance (mostly with me, not Will)

Steward’s Training Day
Well, a great day at Kaarimba today. Gwenifer had the pair and assorted others. Karen, the team. Merryn with the shettie power, Wendy, The Wiz and The Giz, Melissa and Macca, Morry had two, Peter had two, Dale and Heather had two and me, I had Will and Grace.
Did some intro work on how to be a steward for Start and Finish of Sections, also showed how to steward on MO’s. Hopefully everyone there learnt something and even more hopefully, they will front up to help out at our CDE in November. Karen and Mark had also put up a cones course.
After that everyone had a play with their ponies, drove obstacles, drove cones, drove down the road or worked in the sand arena.
Gwenifer had organised great eats. A really good day and we left in the softly drizzling rain.

No time for ponies
Too busy at work to get home early enough for ponies. Maybe over the weekend. Having fun on the internet though.

More work with Winter ponies
Took Will and Grace to Gwenifer’s. Supposed to be helping Gwenifer drag hair out of her big ponies. Spent a little time on Axle after he had been worked. Gwenifer is working them in the Pessoa and you can see the difference in their roundness. Bonnie happier than Axle. After that we put Will and Grace in the jogger. Will coped like he had being it all his life. Grace ……well…………Grace knew better. Much easier to do it faster than the ute could tow. Oh well, nothing sweet about Grace!!

August 15th
Worked the Winter ponies today. Grace is starting to round up and develop a few muscles across the back. Will is being put to the jogger but is only at the tie up rail at this stage.
Nearly time to get the big boys in. They will need clipping so need to buy new clippers.

Crazy Carriage Drivers
Do you know about carriage driving? Carriage Driving is a fun sport. You can drive a horse or a pony. You can drive one, two or four at once. It is good to get some help to get started as you must remember that you are tying a metal(usually) contraption on wheels to a flight animal. If things go wrong it often goes wrong in a very big way. You can just go for a drive along a quiet country road with friends or you can get involved in all sorts of competitions with your equine or, of course, do both.
